2. I don't want to see him paralyzed by this process
It may never end. We hope it will, but the truth is they may NEVER reach a point of voting.

Obama need to go about business as usual.

3. I voted yes, because I hate it when he leaves the country
and things start falling apart. We can't let that happen again to HCR.

But I believe the House will pass the bill before he leaves.

5. NO WAY..
There is still a big part of this volatile dangerous planet that needs America's help and could care less about HCR.

7. Right on!
I mean, I haven't heard Obama mention healthcare at all since being elected president. Wish he would at least give a speech, you know?

10. Yes, he's given speeches
But the fact remains, a President with a hell of a lot of popularity nine months ago, left the job of leadership on the HCR to Congress, a group that has collectively had less than a 50% favorable rating for as long as I can remember.

If the President were not the image of, "Just pass something, I'll sign it!" he would not have earned the criticism I have given him. A couple of speeches during the end game just don't qualify as leadership in my book.

11. I don't think you paid attention at all in the summer months.
But that's fine. You're obviously set in your ways and anything I say won't matter a lick.

What I remember is Pres. Obama going around the nation trying to sell healthcare reform. Yes, he made mistakes. Yes, he could have handled it better. Yes, maybe he shouldn't have asked congress to do it alone. However, he was out there taking the brunt of the criticism from day one. He was out there holding town halls in August and September and he was there giving a very important speech to the nation late last year.

He was also there to revive the discussions after Scott Brown's win, even though he could have retreated and moved away from any type of reform. God knows he had the out and he didn't take it. Instead, he pushed even harder.

To suggest Pres. Obama did nothing is a flat out lie. Maybe he could've done more...but he sure could have done a lot less. Thankfully he didn't.

12. I did see that
and a phrase comes to mind: too little, too late.

I feel that the very best thing the President and the Democratic Congress can do right now is to drop the matter, let more people experience the screwing over that the insurance companies are doing, and after we replace the teabaggers in 2012, who will replace the Blue Dogs in 2010, we can try again.

If the economy is in better shape by then, the country will go along with better reforms than are being proposed right now, if the economy hasn't improved, then it won't matter, because President Palin will repeal anything that's passed this year.

13. I don't think it was too late, though.
Obama was pushing for reform in the summer. He was just being drowned out by those pesky tea-party assholes.

I do not agree we should drop it, though. I do think we'll get reform this year. It might not be the best, but it's a start.

And that's sooo much better than where we are right now.

Though I do agree that if I were Obama, I'd pull reform and tell people they're SOL.

Thankfully I'm not president. lol
