Two things:

We are currently in a holding pattern waiting on the Senate recon. fix package to be scored by the CBO. The package went to the CBO this morning and is expected back by early next week at the latest. Expect things to start happening quickly once the fix is scored.

1. May our Higher Power bless and expand the "NO" votes! The Public Option will NOT EVER ...
pass in the Senate and we will be left with one shitty bill that amounts only to Insurance MANDATES.

8. There IS no "Higher Power"...

IMO, but if there were, it would not keep millions of people from being insured nor stop millions of kids from being able to have coverage immediately if they have pre-existing conditions.

ETA "IMO" since I'm an atheist but will not know for sure 'til I'm dead-just like everyone else.

9. um really? that's all it amounts to?
So they stripped out the 10 billion for CHCs while I wasn't looking? Oh, no they didn't. Millions of people would have access to comprehensive primary and diagnostic care who don't have it now, under this legislation. As usual, you're uninformed and bleating on.

2. If my math is correct...
We can only "give" 37 votes on HCR -- assuming that the Republicans will vote against it en masse and with no defections. It also assumes that we won't have votes from Massa and Murtha.

The total on this list is 32.

Does that mean we have the votes without Stupak, Kucinich, et. al?

4. Well, that would certainly explain everyone's confidence....
... that the bill will pass.

I really dont think we'll know for certain until that fix comes back from the CBO at which point, I expect, the "undecideds" will swing to yes.

3. Is this really, really bad for the bill to pass or okay?
How many can we afford to lose?

5. It's ok.
A lot of those "undecideds" have moved from "no" to "maybe."
