Seriously. The intellectual foundation of the American right wing is based on folks like Francisco Franco (the hero of National Review for decades) and Augusto Pinochet.

They have spent decades building police states in Latin America and other countries to eliminate leftists and to build their "christian" capitalist utopias. I don't think anything would stop them from doing it here.
