Olbermann Responds To Stewart: 'You're Right, I Have Been A Little Over The Top Lately. Point Taken. Sorry' (VIDEO)
Ben Craw | January 25, 2010, 8:57AM

On Friday night's Countdown, Keith Olbermann responded to Jon Stewart's mockery of the MNSBC host on the previous night's Daily Show, admitting, "I have been a little over the top lately. Point taken. Sorry."

On Thursday's Daily Show Stewart impersonated Olbermann in his own "Special Comment" and ridiculed Olbermann's over-the-top criticism of Massachusetts senator-elect Scott Brown. "Now you are just calling people names," Stewart said.

After playing The Daily Show segment in full, Olbermann initially struck back at Stewart: "This from a guy who reached his professional apex when he was the host of Short Attention Span Theater, 1991?" But he then relented: "Nah, you know what, you're right. I have been a little over the top lately. Point taken. Sorry."

2. I agree. I don't like that Stewart went after him...he's on our side
But Stewart really doesn't have a Republicans-only policy now does he?

3. eh ...
Olbermann was wrong, Stewart was right about it, and KO fessed up ...

Of all the crape the right does, the whole extrapolate something and make it definitive thing is one of the worst ...

BO attended Reverand Wrights church, Wright spoke ill of america in some sermons, therefor BO hates america ...

GOD DARNIT I hate that they do that intellectually corrupt BS all the time ...

KO did it, and he is better than that ...

That the bar is set differently for us v the Rs isn't the issue here ...

It is what it is ...

4. Why shouldn't he go after him?
He's a comedian. He goes for laughs. And the bit WAS funny. I don't trust any comedian (or pundit) who views one side or another totally "off limits".

5. There are far more important things Stewart could have made fun of.
O'Reilly and BlecKKK (sic) are two of them. I lost a lot of respect for Stewart in that clip, and I had been one of his biggest fans. That bit with the glasses was really quite stupid.

And I don't think Keith was over the top at all.

7. I WANT my Keith over the top sometimes.
I don't want him toothless and tame and apologizing to Jon Stewart. That was downright embarrassing and un-Keith-like. I preferred the part where he was mocking Stewart for having hit his professional apex with Short Attention Span Theatre.
