Can Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid revive and pass HCR on their own?
Because it appears they *are* on their own doesn't it?

1. Do we really know that?
LBJ got major legislation such as the Civil Rights Act passed mainly by making late night phone calls from the Oval Office to twist arms and make deals. So how do we know whether Obama is doing the same thing or not?

2. I think the way things were done in the LBJ era are gone forever.
It's a different animal now.

3. Reid, Pelosi, and Stoyer...
have enough difficulty as it is just by breathing and walking at the same time.

Add in all the other malcontents and jerks we have representing us and get rid of them all.

7. Can they learn there is no compromise with raw avarice?
If not then there won't be any actual progress on almost anything.

Even baby steps aren't a magic bullet. We lost health care reform and have been offered nothing other than a build up on the current system that at the very best spreads the pain while allowing more overall to be inflicted.

Complete failure to even lay down the most basic foundations to with great luck and effort to build on, creating another set of "too big to fail" companies with a golden key to the treasury, and compounding all the problems by locking the people into a mandate to just hand over their money to these monsters (and about everyone knows that is what they are) means not only a lack of progress but a substantial long term loss of ground.

We are all or will be desperate but only through the lens of deep desperation would anyone accept those terms. That's slitting all our throats to get very little.
