Two congressmen arrested for 'parapolitics'
... Senator for Partido de la U, Zulema Jattin and Caldas House of Representatives congressman Jairo Alberto Llano Gómez were both arrested under the charge of conspiracy to commit an aggravated crime.

Investiagtions into Jattin, began two years ago after her name was discovered in the computer of extradited paramilitary leader Rodrigo Tovar Pupo, alias 'Jorge 40' and also in a statement by AUC paramilitary leader Salvatore Mancuso.

Jattin was chairman of the House of Representatives from 2204 to 2005. In 2006 she was elected as a senator for the Partido de la U.

1. This process is awfully slow
at least from my perspective. It would seem a lot of these cases are so obvious.

2. IF this weren't an actual banana republic, you wouldn't hear the President has been raving,
and pitching fits against the Colombian Supreme Court!

From your second article, a predictable pot shot from one of his allies. This would not happen in a more civilized society:
The 39-year-old Jattin called her arrest a "kidnapping" by the Supreme Court.
Zulema Jattin'd better live it up now. She won't always have the protection of the little Hitler and his death squads to shield her from the consequences of her actions.
