Delaware Sen. Joe Biden's wife Jill was involved in an accident on I-95 this morning, authorities said.

Police did not immediately release any details on the crash, but reportedly she was not seriously injured.

A spokesman for the senator's office declined to comment on "private family matters."

The accident happened about 9:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Del. 141 interchange and closed the two right-hand lanes and caused delays, the Delaware Department of Transportation said earlier today.

it is part of why I have a real affinity for Joe Biden. I really don't want or need sympathy, but definitely feel strengthened by understanding. Sometime I will recount our conversation about that if you are interested. You can tell Joe still hurts after 35 years. It has been only 4 for me, and I have my two kids who make me happy and proud. I look up to Joe in so many ways - sorry I'm getting pretty misty here
