A video I made of a short ride on a local twisty back road..
I mounted my digital pocket camera to my helmet and got this video on my '80 CX500 Honda riding a picturesque five minute loop on some roads close to my home at a brisk cruise. I was pleased with the way it came out, it gives a good feel for the motorcycling experience I think, view it at 480p for the best quality.

1. Woodsy. Very woodsy. I'm tempted to ride out to Palm Springs
and spend the night tomorrow. It's been too cold here. Out there it should be 90 or so.

2. It's almost too hot here already..
You may have noticed the wet patches on the roads, we had showers that didn't cool anything off, just drove the humidity up to damn near unbearable, you could have cut it with a knife this afternoon.

I'm thinking about going for a night ride tonight.

3. Last year I took a night ride out to Palm Springs. Thru' the mountains,
and no cars out there. Real spooky. And with all the curves the light doesn't go around the bend. I came close to running over a dead deer. I think a Suburban ran it over about half a mile in front of me.
Heat here is ultra dry, so it isn't bad. Also, it gets very cold at night, especially with any elevation. Palm Springs is about 150 miles, at sea level. But the mountains are about 6000 feet to get there, the way I like to go.
We won't have rain again until September or so. That's nice. I don't like rain.
Ride safe, it's dangerous out there.

I nearly froze hitchhiking out in the desert in 1970, didn't realize how cold it got at night.. :)

6. Hard to see the deer. Last year going up to Big Bear a coyote stopped to cross the road and watched
me pass by.
2 or 3 years ago going out to Crater Lake a (mother) large deer and about 4 of the little ones stopped to cross the road before I went by. However, these Oregon deer are polite and waited til I passed before they crossed.
