The agenda of the wealthy will always prevail unless...
1- progressives are elected to Congress and the POTUS
and 2- registered voters regularly communicate their desires to Congress and POTUS.

Please critique this. My latest thinking.

1. not enough
start with serious campaign finance reform, educate the electorate, and everyday people must use the power they have (e.g. investments, divestitures, boycotts, etc)

4. Americans pride...
themselves on being hard headed and stubborn. Mulish even!
They think with their guts and prejudices; both unexamined. Then when they hear the truth they reject what doesn't "feel" right which is often the very thing that most needs to be accepted.
But mules aren't dumb. They will act and behave very well when they absolutely know it is in their best interest. The Republicans have told stories that make it seem like that to people who know they are being flim-flammed but just can't figure out who is doing it. So they see no percentage to trust anyone but to jump from one side to the other as the mood hits.:dem:
