Why did Coburn, Enzi and Burr vote no?
Coburn and Enzi represent deep red states. What was in this bill that they disliked so much?

Oh, and kudos to them anyway.

1. Maybe

because it will raise the minimum wage over two years to $7.25 per hour from $5.15 per hour. That is part of this bill.

2. I was wondering about that, too

I'm willing to give anyone credit for trying to end this fiasco, but it seems extremely out-of-character for those three.

Did they think the bill didn't "go far enough," or are they opposed to the minimum wage increase, or have they actually come to their senses?

5. They are in the
pockets of big business. They need the money for re-election and it will hurt more if it is said come election time they voted to increase the min wage. Just my thoughts.

3. No kudos to them, unless they suddenly decided to buck Chimpy.
They knew it was safe to vote no. They are probably protecting their ACU lifetime ratings by screwing the little guy (minimum wage).

8. Minimum wage. Funding for Katrina rebuilding. Funding for veterans.
It's the human values they couldn't stomach. Assholes.
