3am phone call..."President Palin, North Korea just attacked a remote South Korean outpost"
What once could have been dismissed as paranoia back in 2009 could very easily become a reality. Commander-in-Chief Sarah Palin. Think long and hard about that, the ramifications of what that means. Someone who has never served a single day in the Armed Forces - not even the National Guard, surrounded by a bunch of chickenhawk Teabagger advisors. I shudder to think of what a Palin presidency would do to our country. I have a feeling that she could make Bush & Cheney look like a bunch of pacifists by comparison.

Just reason #47 that we absolutely cannot afford to let these people win.

8. It's irrelevant that she hasn't served
In America the military is designed to be under civilian control. So military experience is irrelevant. But yah, the thought of her with the nuclear football scares the blueberries outa me.

19. Shit, I'd forgotten she'd had that trouble understanding Korea
Heilemann said that even after crash-course tutorials by campaign aides following the convention, Palin was still woefully uninformed about basic policy issues.

“(S)he still didn’t really understand why there was a North Korea and a South Korea,” Heilemann told the program’s Anderson Cooper. “She was still regularly saying that Saddam Hussein had been behind 9/11.”

CO-HOST: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea? <...>

PALIN: But obviously, we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies. We’re bound to by treaty –

CO-HOST: South Korean.

PALIN: Eh, Yeah. And we’re also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

38. Beyond that "our North Korean allies" groaner... Palin tried to blame Obama for allowing the attack.
Her argument wasn't coherent, but she's really such a one-trick pony that she actually used the shelling incident to imply that Obama wasn't strong enough. Facts don't matter, of course, the point is to make every statement that comes out of her mouth be an accusation against the president for whatever goes wrong in the world.

41. Then the first August of her administration should be a real hoot
The North Koreans are famous for attacking remote South Korean outposts along the DMZ in August. They fire a few rounds, First ROK Army fires a few rounds, no big deal. It doesn't even make the papers unless someone gets shot.

The worry is, if the North Koreans cross the DMZ rather than just shooting at us, or if they bring armor or artillery into the mix.

But seriously, if the North Korean People's Army decides to hold a serious attack we are well and truly fucked.

Because he knows damn well that is what most Americans want.

And McCain would have a +90% approval rating.
