When the senate reconvenes Nov. 29, Kirk of Illinois will be sworn in, replacing Roland Burris, who was a very liberal senator...Shame he couldn't get past the Blogovich mess, but that wasn't his fault...

Dems were originally supposed to hold weekend sessions on the 20th & 21st. to get some of Obama's judicial nominees thru, but alas, they caved in again..

1. They should have done more the last 2 years
They sat on their rear ends and wasted opportunity after opportunity.

5. 59 equals zero
59 senate votes is the same thing as zero. 41 Republicans can and will obstruct anything.

Big Pharma, Big Oil, Wall Street, health insurance CEOs, the Military-Industrial overlords.

3. Well, you know it's not really 59 votes....
..and the senate you have and blah blah blah....and wouldn't want to actually have to lead and enforce any kind of discipline and reaching out and yadda yadda and some other bunch of spinning bullshit excuse, etc. etc....

10. No
He didn't fight either one very hard at all. We should just change our party symbol from a Donkey to just a giant set of shrugging shoulders.

12. I don't believe he's fought at all, and the jackals on both sides of the aisle
sense weakness. Thing is, candidate Obama wasn't weak so I'm not sure why he's so hesitant as President.

7. Part of me wanted him to lose to Angle, so either Durbin or Schumer
would be the new Senate Majority Leader...But Angle was just TOOOO nuts/crazy/insane so it was good Reid won..

Now if he could only lead, :banghead:
