1. The same way they always do.
They'll call it "working with our friends across the aisle".

2. I'll go with the standard script...
...blame Republican "obstructionism" for their inability to control their own caucus and let the clock run out.

8. It died in the house today. They tried to "fast track" it, which needs 2/3. They didn't
get it. No idea why they had to use that procedure.

10. they'll work out the funding
No fiction. This looks more like republicans making a temporary point (about remaining stimulus funds they wanted to use to pay for the extension) than some hard-fast stand against eventually extending the benefits.

I think the republicans will cave.

11. Oh, it will have something to do
with "In the spirit of bipartisanship", "compromise", or some other such BS. The bottom line, however, is "selling out". Again.

:puke:

12. If Obama and the Dems in congress work for the working class and
it gets noticed and contrasted with the repubs lack of support for the working class we will be OK in 2012.

If we cave to the repubs Obama is a one term president and we lose both houses in 2012. You can bet on it.

13. Define "cave" in this scenario. Seems we gave it a shot today on the fast track ploy.

I'm not sure what the options are at this point, tell the truth. I assume it will be revisited after the recess. In what format, I've no clue.

Last July's wrangling was pretty convoluted, but we got the deal done. We didn't bail on the issue then. I've no reason to see why we would bail this time around 4 - 5 months later.
