One of the most liberal members of President Obama's bipartisan deficit commission unveiled her own plan Tuesday to balance the budget: Keep Social Security benefits intact, make deep reductions at the Pentagon and raise corporate taxes to target profits and excessive pay for chief executives.

But of course, since it doesn't punish the middle class, rob the under class, and put every extra dime into the overstuffed pockets of the wealthy, it will be a non-starter.

But these indeed are recommendations that would reduce the deficit, and not a one of them will be taken seriously by the so-called deficit hawks. Which should tell you just about all you need to know about this little charade of deficit reduction.

Still, this is what should be pushed. Let the GOP-- or the President for that matter-- block it and state clearly who they really stand for.
