It will be interesting to see how he tries to sell this in December. Apparently he said he would not comment fully until that time.
I think he will take the tact of this is "necessary pain" and "a hard thing but we must do it as a country" but IMHO it will go over like a lead balloon. It will be interesting to see poll numbers on this issue from Democrats anyway and if Obama can move the needle at all.
