Alan Grayson May Try Again: ‘I Don’t Want to Waste’ Supporter Base

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) today left open the possibility of one day running for office again despite being defeated by an 18-point margin last week.

“It’s too early to say,” Grayson said on ABC News’ online show “Top Line.”

“But I do understand that the voters have decided to give someone else a chance for a while, and I’m going to have to find another way to be useful.”

Grayson, who became a hero to progressives over the last year for speaking frankly about his liberal views, noted the 100,000 contributions to his campaign and the “enormous base of volunteers.”

(thank you Rep. Grayson for all you've done and those great answers you gave those two)

1. He was in a swing area. He should run statewide next time.

2012 will be a much easier year for Democrats with Obama on the ballot.

3. Saw him on Joy Behar
and he should jump in as a pundit until he runs again. He is very well organized when he speaks and has the right balance of facts and zingers. We need such a stong voice in media.

5. He'll have to run again soon if he doesn't "want that to atrophy"...
Hmm, what position does he want?

7. Grayson should look for a place where there are not so many righties
and move there. He's a "marked" man, and as long as there are rich, vindictive people where he lives, they will always "come after" him with a vengeance. His own safety might be on the line next time around.. these are irrational people...many of them with too many screws-loose to count..and many are armed:(

8. He definitely needs to run again, this time maybe in a different
district. Lots of politicians lose then come back to win again. He should move to a bluer area, then run for the Senate and we need dozens more like him which we should be looking for right now.

After two years of Republican rule, I think the country will be ready for more people like Grayson.

9. Thank you for all your good work, Alan
I would hate to see you move to greener pastures, as happened with Clint Curtis after he didn't get elected to replace the corrupt Rep. Tom Feeney. Suzanne Kosmas won in that district, but now here in Central Fla. all we have is a new crop of corrupt Rethugs in office. Maybe more voters will realize who is responsible for all this mess. It certainly was not the Democrats.

10. Is Bill Nelson running in 2012?
If not, Grayson should run.

If so, Grayson should run anyway.

11. He'll Become A Talking Head...
As we've seen, Grayson gives good TV...that's how most people here found out about him. I could see him signing on as a "contributor" and/or doing a radio show.
