Police in Oakland, Calif., fatally shoot unarmed man

People in one Oakland neighborhood are outraged after police officers responding to a domestic violence call, ultimately shot and killed an apparently unarmed suspect Monday night.

Neighborhood residents say the man was a popular store owner. Officers were responding to a call at a laundromat on Bancroft Avenue after a brief chase; the man was shot by police on nearby Trask Street. The man was identified by his friends as 37-year-old Derek Jones.

... Police say they were called about a domestic violence incident at the Clean Scene laundromat and the suspect ran. He was found about a block away on Trask Street. Police say the man was not armed.

... Many people couldn't talk about the killing of Derek Jones without talking about the killing of Oscar Grant.
