Should we start movement to get Bachmann the Speaker position?
Can the astro-turf work both ways?

I think she'd step in her own pile of excrement A LOT!

Nothings going to come out of the House for the next two years anyway. Elevating her national profile could do us a lot of good.

Or am I off base?

1. It would be good for Dems, but won't happen
When Pelosi became minority leader, I remember Mara Liasson (yes I know she works for Fox) referred to these internal struggles as like 'Vatican elections.' I think there's a lot of insider stuff that goes on in leadership debates that none of us plebs has a clue about. My guess is Bachmann is waaaaaaay back in the Republican line. Boehner might get a challenge, but not a credible one from her.

2. Probably true.
Still, the "movement" would wind up the tea party...against their Republican overlords.

It doesn't have to be real-world credible...only Tea-party-world credible. :-)

6. No, people would take her more seriously.
If this election told us anything, its that a lot of voters take Teabaggers seriously.

8. That's for the 4th leadership position (GOP conference chairman), not for Speaker. n/t

9. I love this one:
"The GOP needs the Tea Party, but the Tea Party does not need the GOP."

They're drunk on power from a very *limited* national success. Like the first time your parents let you stay home alone...suddenly you think you're an adult!

They are headed for a quick descent.

11. Yep. There were 130 teaparty-backed candidates and only 40 of 'em won.
I'm so happy that Sharron Angle, Christine O'donnell, Ken Buck, and Joe Miller LOST :)
It makes all the bad news about the lost dem seats a litter bit easier to take.

13. Indeed it does.
Maybe it also helps them stop that confounded "running from the cameras" as a campaign tactic.

There's no way - even if you're sympathetic to them - that people should stand for that!
