Alright. This is my question: How will the U.S. keep our competitive edge in the Global Economy?

Just caught up with the Presidential News Conference from earlier today. I listened to what President Obama said...and thought about it.

President Obama said, "The most important competition we face is between America and our economic competitors around the world."

I've been thinking about the cuts in the space program, manufacturing jobs being sent overseas, other off-shoring & outsourcing practices, and the ginormous trade deficit with China.

So, my question is, HOW will we remain a strong economic competitor? We certainly will not be able to do it with consumerism. Especially if there are not enough well-paying jobs in the U.S.
