4. Could I please nominate my sheroe -- Shirley Sherrod ?!
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 12:07 PM by bobbolink
While I understand your sentiments and would seriously CELEBRATE someone like Shirley Sherrod on the Court, what is desparately iimportant is that we have someone who is well-qualified, STRONG, and Principled.

If that means a black woman, then I will be cheering. If it means another white male who can stand up to the shit that exists there, then this woman would also be cheering.

To sum it up, I want to see Shirley Sherrod in the spotlight and in a VERY responsible position. That woman is GOLD, and its not because of her color or gender. She is SOLID.

13. Franken is surprising me. Unlike most of DU, I admit when I am wrong. ^_^
I still don't put any energy into him, because he won't speak about poverty, and that is my line in the sand.

He isn't as firy as Grayson, but he seems to be acquitting himself well. A primary with Feingold and Franken could be quite powerful to say the least.

The progressive left needs leadership and enthusiasm. Russ can really help with both.

8. what don't you get?
NO nominees will be confirmed, and certainly not a supreme court justice.

all judicial openings will stay that way until 2013.
