6. my sister taught me to read before i started kindergarten. but teachers helped me to
have critical thinking skills. something which sadly seems to be seen as not as important by many these days. and i make sure my kids teachers know how much i appreciate their efforts.

8. Yep. Me, too.
I was long before I ever got near a school, and I thank my mom for that. I picked it up while she read to me.

I read before going to school - which used to be the pattern for everyone. Mind you I was an obnoxious little swat who (age 7) informed one teacher that I would not "get lead poisoning" from biting my pencils sharp "because they're GRAPHITE,"
