I guess it can be semi-kinda my fault... but check for yourself...

If you click through to "more info", it even says "Verified listing"

4. nah, its actually really nice here, just not what I planned on
It's total BS what happened, but the area is super duper nice.

It's kind of strange actually...

There was a long empty road that lead up to here (National Harbor) to seclude it, but the other end is a super ghetto.

8. well, I went to the liqour store there, because...
there are no normal stores in this little secluded 'village' just upscale stores, and fancy bars.

That said... I went to the liquor store "in the ghetto" and I heard nothing but gangsta talk, and conversations about heavy drugs.

I call that ghetto

'cause I'm in Bothell, nowhere near DC. Once stayed at the Carter Hotel in Times Square. Oh Dear Lord, was that a dive. But it was something worth writing about. The thing is, you are going to have a fucking blast, and this bleeding heart liberal is having a hard time sympathizing with you right now. You had better post pics and stories, or ELSE!

13. National Harbor
Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 09:21 PM by thrift_store_angel
The area around National Harbor isn't a "super ghetto". As long as you are on the same side of the beltway as National Harbor it is ok. It is older and run down, but not horrible. And you really are not that far at all from downtown, the only way it is 30 mins is if it is rush hour. All you have to do is take 295 up in to town.

Edited to add -- but if you are driving on 295 be careful, there are speed cameras around the DC/MD line.
