NASA Planning One-Way Manned Mission to Mars
(Oct. 27) -- We are going to Mars and not coming back.

At a recent event in San Francisco, NASA Ames Research Center Director Pete Worden introduced the Hundred Year Starship initiative, a project to embark on a one-way mission from Earth to Mars by 2030 and permanently settle the red planet.

Seriously, I would like to nominate some folks for the first astronauts. Like that Phantom Zone in Superman--make Mars a penal colony!!

Karl Rove
Sarah Palin
All the GOP assholes in Congress (well...let's see that might be just about ALL the GOP members of Congress)
Dick Cheney
The entire Bush klan
Christine O'Donnell (so they can procreate)
All the other pea party candidates currently soiling the public airwaves with their shit.
As many teabaggers as they can fit in

Anyone else?

1. Here I was coming in to make the post funny
by suggesting a bunch of nominees for the trip. I think a pile of us would have the same idea.

2. None of those people would make it 5 minutes on their own
seriously. By the time they got to mars, they wouldn't be able to make a coherent sentence... oh, wait.

13. I know people who believe the ruling elite wants to be on this voyage
to escape the genocide they plan to inflict on the rest of us. Iff all those people I mentioned get tickets on this voyaage, I will actually worry that they intend to leave and destroy life on planet earth. Destroy us but not our wealth.
