Wife abusing GOP candidate closing in on Davis in TN house race
I don't know why this hasn't garnered more public scrutiny, but the GOP challenger, Scott DesJarlais, who is running against Lincoln Davis (Democratic congressman since 2003, is apparently a really nasty piece of work who terrorized his first wife with a gun and much more (see <http://www.go4truth.com>. Davis is a blue dog, but as the GOP ads have pointed out in an effort to discredit him, he "voted with Pelosi 93% of the time." Davis' district has become overwhelmingly red, but it was still considered a safely Democratic seat until recently. The GOP is mounting a full court press, and Grover Norquist's so-called "Americans for Tax Reform" is also bankrolling saturation media propaganda. It is really sickening. DesJarlais has not previously held public office so he has no official trail, but the fact that Norquist supports him speaks for itself. Davis has publicized DesJarlais' alarming domestic history (after DesJarlais ran ads with his lovely second family, portraying himself as a devoted husband and daddy), so now the GOP claim that Davis is "attacking DesJarlais' family." It seems to me that the only one attacking the family was DesJarlais himself; Davis just wanted to make sure that people knew about it when making a decision. Every seat counts, and we can't afford to lose this one.
