(I'm just thinking out loud here, so bear with me. This will be roughly written:)

Doing rallies like he did today, more backyard events, and stumping for other Democrats.

The president--I don't care who the president is--has an enormous ability to dominate the media coverage and set the tone of public debate, If he is consistent, engaged and forceful. George W. Bush was actually very good at this type of message discipline. Because they ARE presidents, they can generate free media to a level that other politicians can only dream of.

Yes, the most conservative red state Democrats would probably invent convenient "scheduling conflicts" to avoid being on the stage with him, but most of these clowns are going to lose anyway. The more important thing is that it would be a national strategy, not a Wisconsin strategy for Finegold or a Connecticut strategy for Blumenthal; designed to establish a national message, which a president is better-positioned than any other politician to establish.

He could close the enthusiasm gap, set the elections on his terms and memories of the energy and elan of the 2008 would start to return, though not fully (that will be the goal in 2012).

The health care bill was constantly teetering on the edge of defeat, for months, in fact. Whether you like the bill or not (that's not the issue), when Obama got out there and started taking his case to the people directly in those critical final days, the votes materialized and the bill passed.

2. What makes you think he's not going to? Check his schedule...

...he's got lots of events, just like Madison, lined up.

6. for some reason that pic makes me think of
incontinence.

Liebs is comfortable with it, Gramps doesn't realize it and Lil' Lindie is desperately holding his pee pee to contain it.
