...far more say their vote will be motivated by opposition to the Tea Party movement...
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/plum-line/2010/09/poll_proves_christine_odonnell.html

Christine O'Donnell is toxic and hurting GOP

Christine O'Donnell's victory provides the clearest sign yet that the Tea Party is damaging GOP prospects, as opposed to acting merely as an energizing and rebranding forceand a new Fox poll in Delaware shows this as clearly as you could want.

The poll's topline is that Dem Chris Coons is beating O'Donnell by a lopsided margin, 54-39, among likely voters. But the internals are even more interesting. They show that a big majority of Delaware voters says she's not qualified to be Senator:

Regardless of how you plan to vote, do you think Christine O'Donnell is qualified to be a U.S. Senator?

33% Yes

60% No

And far more say their vote will be motivated by opposition to the Tea Party movement:

Which of the following best describes how the Tea Party movement will affect your vote for SENATE this year?

26% Your vote will be to express support for the Tea Party movement

41% Your vote will be to express opposition to the Tea Party movement

30% Tea Party movement will not be a factor in your vote

3% Not sure

What's particularly interesting here is that the poll also finds that Delaware voters are sympathetic to the GOP's arguments. A majority wants smaller government; a plurality says the Federal government is out of control; and half want to repeal the health care law. Yet O'Donnell and the Tea Party are apparently so toxic that the state is nonetheless all but out of reach for the GOP.

2. Unfortunately, you have to take that poll with a grain of salt.
How many repubs. do you know who read the Washington Post, or take part in their polls? Though, then again.....that mouse clip of hers is pretty toxic.

The crazy stuff they say is so similar people will forget exactly who said what and will attribute it to Palin or her mini me.

4. Yeah, let's just hope that's a negative come election time.
Nothing is a sure thing with our sophisticated voters.
