3. Wasn't there already a mosque in one of the WTC towers that was destroyed?
So what is the big deal about building another? Why shouldn't they be able to have it where they want it?

5. WTF are you talking about?
A "shrine" to "islamic wonderfulness" in the "debris field"?

Hopefully you just forgot the :sarcasm: tag.

8. Christians, Jews, Buddhists and other interfaith leaders...
...have been involved in the planning from the beginning--along with a group of 250 families of 9/11 victims.

Disingenuously mischaracterizing it as "a shrine to Islamic wonderfulness in the debris field" indicates ony one thing: Somebody's about a pint short...

9. We've gone from "Ground Zero" to the "Debris Field"
That's a big area.

14. What about the 2 mosques/prayer rooms that were in the WTC, were destroyed?
It is a community center that contains a prayer room. By some definitions that means it is a mosque, for those whom "mosque" is OMGSCARY, realize that that prayer room is only a small part of a much larger community center which will contain a pool, a bookstore, have classes such as cooking, a gym, etc.

Do you do the same thing for YMCAs or other community centers?

WTF is "a shrine to Islamic wonderfulness" anyway?

4. I don't do facebook, but if I did I'd join you on this.
I hope you get a lot of support for the Islamic Cultural Center, spreading peace is where it's at....we've had enough hatred to last us forever.

6. There were mosques in each WTC tower.
As KO put it tonight, "...there were mosques in Ground Zero when it became Ground Zero."

Damn xenophobes need to get over themselves.
