If not Dean then Ed Rendel or would any Progressive support Michael Bloomburg?

Seems the MSM is ABUZZ with Rahm Leaving and WHO will replace him. These were the choices put up on Matthew's Show.

What do You All Think?

I would wish for Howard Dean to replace Rahm...but that ain't gonna happen so next choice is Ed Rendell.

But, the BUSINESS COMMUNITY wants BLOOMBERG....because they think he's the "Cat's Meow."

So...What say You?
------

BTW: THIS OBAMA SPEECH TODAY was FAR BETTER THAN that THING...where he said.."They talk about me like a dog!" and where he sounded like an interview with a Football Star with his rhetoric.

GO OBAMA...I HOPE TO HELL YOU GOT YOUR "MO JO" BACK...because we DEMS ON THE LEFT HAVE BEEN TRASHED and we are HURTING because of comments against us from your henchmen.

GLAD TO SEE YOU BACK! WILL YOU STICK TO YOUR GUNS ON THIS ONE...or is it "Smoke and Mirrors?"

3. Has Dean shown special skill at managing staff or passing bills in Congress?
The fact that Dean still has a big fan club who hate Rahm doesn't necessarily make him the best person for that particular job. Whatever else people think about Rahm, it's smart to have someone who knows how to work Congress, and that's something Dean has almost no direct experience doing.

15. It's the job of Obama and his entire administration to get bills passed
not any one person. I don't think being the "pulse of the American Dems" is in any job description and I trust Obama to do a better job of that than Dean anyway.
Dean is good at putting his ear to the ground and telling the netroots what they want to hear, but I don't believe that's what Obama needs in a CoS.

He called Netroots Activists..."YOU FUCKING RETARDS" and, I suspect he goaded Gibbs into calling the Progressives of Dem Party..."Professional Liberals and told us to get DRUG TESTED."

Do you condone these antics? Didn't we see this same crap from BUSH II? Why do we need to take this SHIT? You think we have no power? Our POWER IS OUR VOTE! In case you forgot what we are about.

He called a specific tactic proposed by a single organization "fucking retarded." He didn't direct any such comment at netroots activists in general. That's a dishonest distortion. I don't condone manipulative tactics used to stoke anger and childish grudges.

37. Waaah?
I corrected you on a popular lie that's often repeated. It exposes you for irresponsibly spreading a false rumor. How exactly does it expose me? Expose me as what? lol Do you think I'm posting naked?

In case you really don't know, I did the google search for you to find the actual original story. As I wrote, he made a comment about a specific tactic.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703808904575025030384695158.html?mod=WSJ_latestheadlines#printMode

Not "them." Not "liberals." Not "the netroots." He said it about a specific tactic which he had just heard about.

It was not a general insult at the netroots. The people who told you otherwise were lying to stoke the old grudge people have against Rahm. For example, this headline at FDL was written by a fucking liar.

42. Yep...here it is...How GRITTY can RAHM GET to TRASH the Left of his PARTY!
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 08:21 PM by KoKo
YOUR SOURCE from the Wall Street Journal:

The friction was laid bare in August when Mr. Emanuel showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides. Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul.

"F—ing retarded," Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items.

The antipathy reflects deep dissatisfaction on the Democratic left with Mr. Obama's first year in office, and represents a fracturing of the relationship between the president and the political base that mobilized to elect him. A little more than one year ago, Mr. Obama's victory led some to predict an era of Democratic dominance.

The anger on the left shows that Mr. Obama is caught in an internal battle over both the course of his administration and the Democratic Party.

Many in the party, particularly in the wake of the loss last week of a Massachusetts Senate seat, contend that the White House should chart a centrist approach focusing on the economy. They point to polls showing Mr. Obama's approval rating among independent voters has dropped by nearly 20 percentage points since early last year.

Rahm Emanuel: Liberals Are “F–king Retarded”

digg stumbleupon

One thing you find out pretty quickly when dealing with beltway press is that Rahm Emanuel is a source for most of them, and that they’re generally unwilling to criticize him lest they blow up one of their best sources of White House spin. So, it’s rare that a journalist (in this case the Wall Street Journal’s Peter Wallsten, recently arrived from the LA Times) runs a non-lapdog profile.

Most amusing to me was the fact that he finally got the goods about Rahm’s famous Veal Pen tirade, when Rahm showed up at the Common Purpose meeting and lambasted the liberal interest groups because MoveOn was running radio ads against Blue Dogs. Previously it had been reported that Rahm called them “f*#king stupid,” even though the scuttlebut was that Rahm said they were “f*#king retards.” It’s a tight-lipped crowd to penetrate, and nobody wants to get zapped from the meetings for talking to the press. But Wallsten managed to get the story:

The friction was laid bare in August when Mr. Emanuel showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides. Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama’s health-care overhaul.

“F—ing retarded,” Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items.

Yesterday a journalist asked me if I thought Rahm was a “tough guy,” because he’s hearing many people say that he’s actually shallow and weak. I pointed him to this famous story:

he definitive Rahm Emanuel story takes place in Little Rock, Ark., in the heady days after Bill Clinton was first elected President.

It was there that Emanuel, then Clinton’s chief fund-raiser, repaired with George Stephanopoulos, Mandy Grunwald and other aides to Doe’s, the campaign hangout. Revenge was heavy in the air as the group discussed the enemies – Democrats, Republicans, members of the press – who wronged them during the 1992 campaign. Clifford Jackson, the ex-friend of the President and peddler of the Clinton draft-dodging stories, was high on the list. So was William Donald Schaefer, then the Governor of Maryland and a Democrat who endorsed George Bush. Nathan Landow, the fund-raiser who backed the candidacy of Paul Tsongas, made it, too.

Suddenly Emanuel grabbed his steak knife and, as those who were there remeber it, shouted out the name of another enemy, lifted the knife, then brought it down with full force into the table.

”Dead!” he screamed.

That’s not “tough.”

Just because someone disagrees doesn't mean it's an attack. Dean/Rahm threads are always controversial on DU. You know that.

If you don't want a negative response then don't start by calling people "henchmen," giving back-handed compliments, and questioning Obama's sincerity.

When he ran he told liberal audiences he was from the "democratic wing of the democratic party." When he spoke to the press and other audiences he described himself as a moderate and "fiscal conservative." I see a contradiction there.

But goddamn if you're wanting to re-fight the '04 primary you'll have to catch me again when I'm in the mood. Just do a search of DU General Discussion from back in the day. in his Administration in a minor post and that would have made some of us out here at least feel he recognized his work for the Dem Party when it was in Peril.

But, he didn't...so there's obviously some kind of antipathy.

But....he needs to bring in someone like Howard...so who would it be. AND...he also needs to now place Howard somewhere in that Administration to counteract what Rahm and Gibbs said about part of the Netroots/Activists who held everything together when the Dem Party was in the Wilderness after the Supremes appointed Bush over Gore in 2000.
