What the President SHOULD have said to the IRAQI PEOPLE

Well I know it is far-fetched for the leader of "greatest nation on earth" to offer an apology (for war crimes and wholesale slaughter) but my humble soul would have seen some real hope, some real change, if Obama had offered up just a few solemn words to the Iraqi people in his speech Tuesday night.

What he should have said to the Iraqi People is, "I am sorry for the devastation visited upon you by my country. I am going to do everything in my powers to see that reparations for the destruction of your country is forthcoming. I am going to do everything in my powers to see that those responsible for these war crimes will be pursued and held accountable before an international tribunal."

But what we got instead was: "Through this remarkable chapter in the history of the United States and Iraq, we have met our responsibility."

While I am not disappointed as I had no expectations I am appalled. Wholesale plunder of an entire country described as a remarkable chapter.

It seems to me the Iraqi people are omitted from the equation, erased from history. Their lives deemed unimportant.

5. I remember

when Obama said, "The American people have been extraordinarily resolved. They have seen their sons and daughters killed or wounded in the streets of Fallujah", in his speech at West Point.

This was very disturbing as this atrocity visited upon the Iraqi people was being lionized as some great sacrifice by American people.

4. How about this part: "We have sent our young men and women to make enormous sacrifices in Iraq, and

Spent vast resources abroad at a time of tight budgets at home."


"WE" did?! Bullfuckingshit.

And the Iraqis sure as fuck never ASKED for that enormous sacrifice, either.

The US military .... and the embedded U$ media... didn't even bother to count the Iraqi dead.
