Republicans may add GLBT Community to their "no" list during midterm elections

With the Republican base fractured by the Tea Party movement, GOP strategists may consider adding to their "no-list," already containing African-American, Latinos, and Muslims, another group - Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender people (GLBT). Log Cabin Republicans could be forced to keep their heads low as Republican front-runners swing axes on legislation trying to appeal constitutional amendments like Proposition Eight during midterm elections. A willingness to ignore our First Amendment because some feel a Muslim community center is too close to Ground Zero suggests nothing is off limits.

While no all-out war against the GLBT community has been declared by any candidate, most have made their position clear when it comes to recognizing "equal protection" guaranteed within the Fourteenth Amendment.

Sarah Palin, when asked if she supports granting equal marriage rights, the former governor said " … not if it goes closer and closer towards redefining the traditional definition of marriage between one man and one woman. And unfortunately that's sometimes where those steps lead. I don't support defining marriage as anything but between one man and one woman, and I think through nuances we can go round and round about what that actually means. I'm being as straight up with Americans as I can in my non- support for anything but a traditional definition of marriage."

3. I was wondering that too...
"Log Cabin Republicans could be forced to keep their heads low..."

Has the writer of this piece, York Van Nixon III, ever actually been to this country?
