Bill Press on "Sacred and hallowed ground."
While doing my morning chores I adore listening to Bill. This morning was the best. He is expounding on the phrases being used by pundits and other nuts "sacred/hallowed" ground. I shall paraphrase: This ground is neither sacred nor hallowed. There's a strip club and an OTB parlor there. A hotel right in the midst of GZ was hit September 11th and has repaired and is back in business. Guess what folks, there are people, not married to each other, having sex, right now, in that hotel. Sacred ground my ass!

As I stated this is paraphrasing but pretty close. Bill Press is a treasure as far as I'm concerned. If there is a replay of his show you would enjoy a listen.

1. I sort of like his show however
I listen online and his show has a terrible sound engineer
because his voice is distorted like they have the mic turned all the way up.
The commercials and news isn't distorted and nether is Stephanie Miller who comes on next.

I listen on AM950 KTNF is the only one I've found online
that isn't blocked...to any listener outside of the US.

Do you find the audio problem with his show like I do?

11. It must be the website
I don't use winamp but iTunes
and the chicago station takes me to a Minnesota station.
His show is the only one that is distorted

I'm listening to Stephanie right now and the show is crystal clear.

I use to listen to a progressive station out of Seattle where it included Thom Hartman but CBS bought it and they don't allow anyone out of the US to listen to it.

7. "Sacred ground" my ass.
9/11 was not an act of God.

The way to understand Republicans is to dismiss all their rhetoric about values and look at motive. They want to reinforce the Jihad and keep America at war for generations, so they claim terrorism is about religion. And terrorism is never a religious act; an act of terrorism is a political act.

Assholes. I tried to get through to Mr. Press's show to express this on the air but was unable.

9. Did you catch his interview with candidate Verg (Virg?). Very
interesting. From Michigan and running for Governor or Senator. I didn't catch all of it but Press really does have a great show and is a wonderful interviewer.

10. Should organize family members of Muslims killed on 9-11
The people who died on 9-11 were a cosmopolitan international group of people. I'm sure some were Muslims. The family members of those Muslims should organize and let people know that 9-11 was not an attack on Christianity, and that they suffered also.

We usually know them as Republicans.

15. Or congregants of Our Lady of Burlington Coat Factory
The only possible legitimate reason I can think of for anyone considering the Park 51 site sacred is if it had been used as a house of worship. On second thought, though, I don't think a Burlington Coat Factory store counts. :)

17. Glad you mentioned that. St. Paul's chapel is right there as is
St. Peter's church also in the area. I mean if you're going to discriminate, let's go big.... As to Our Lady of Burlington Coat Factory, I light a candle to their sales of the past....sigh.

14. Sacred and hallowed is a mind game...
It's narcissism and controlling. This is the kind of shit most Republicans live for. Because of the Constitution, there is no legislative solution, so they can demagogue this forever. Like they do with abortion.

If you are against sacred and hallowed, you are against god. Just where they want you.

16. It's a fucking joke. This right-wing 'sacred hollow ground' meme is very tiring.
It's all code for "Keep the Muslims out!"
