Please help an ex-pat understand "what is a snookie and why does Chris Christie have a snookie
problem?" Is it because he is so dumb and fat he can't find his johnson under his rolls, so he gets no snookie?

What is a snookie?

1. THIS is a snooki.
She's on an MTV show called Jersey Shore.

She and her friends from the Northeast like to drink and party and act funny.

They aren't very progressive, I think.

2. I don't think they're on the political spectrum, any more than I'm on the MTV reality show spectrum.
Same planet, diff. universes.

9. She made some dumb comments about how she can't go "tanning tanning" and "McCain would never do this

to her."

You know, the tax on paying to go get radiation at 3" away from your skin.

Where I'm from, "tanning tanning" is free and you do it outside.

ETA: I'm referring to "Snookie" here

10. I stand corrected.
Egads.

Anyway, if she's really that concerned, she should buy her own tanning bed on craigslist, or something. They're probably pretty cheap, as all the people who had them in the 80s or 90s and now have decided they DON'T want skin cancer are probably getting rid of them.

3. She doesn't look right.
Is she developmentally delayed? Is she getting the help she needs? Why are the cops there?

4. She may indeed be developmentally delayed...
Not in the clinical sense, but she and her pals in the show are not representative of those in their age group who are entertaining educational goals or self-actualizion, unless tans and tattoos count, so I'd say yes, she is challenged.

In this picture, she's being arrested for public intoxication.

That's what they seem to do, drink and go to clubs and fight and drink.

On MTV.

5. That's too bad.
There are so many young people in my area who are desperate for a chance. If they can't find work, they try going back to school or joining the military. Some of them feel humiliated and helpless because they have to come home to live with mom and dad. It's too bad some idiot is being publicized when there are so many good people who are looking for more.

Of course we have people here who love to drink and fight. Ours are not known as snookies. We call them rednecks.

6. Here in China (and back in Korea), if people were arrested for public intoxication
there would be 70% less people on the street.

8. the word of the day is.....
celebutard (sell-eb-you-tard) n a person or persons who by being extremely dumb, obnoxious and pitiable has reached a level of notoriety best reserved for useless pieces of ornamentation that finds it's way into a garage sale, then to the Goodwill and, eventually, after being unsold for a year or so cast upon the garbage heap of entertainment history and relegated to extremely obscure entertainment trivia questions.

11. I think a snookie is like a snipe. To catch one...
...you have to go into the woods with a large burlap sack and be vewy vewy quiet... :)
