Problem is over in the Gulf..
I just heard Limpballs say that - in the 30 seconds I could stomach that fuck.

He says "I was right... nature is taking care of it."

Torn. I want him to be right, but what about all that subsurface oil? I want him to be wrong, but I don't want the oil to kill the Gulf.

3. It's not "over" by years
Truth is, the is permanent damage. "All the kings horses" won't be able to fix it. There is just a new reality in the Gulf. They are already having trouble skimming water because it is dispersed to much to isolate and collect. Ultimately the only thing that will filter it out are the beaches.

4. That seems to be the new media dialogue
But don't believe it. That oil doesn't disappear, it only spreads out, and infects our Gulf and oceans over time even worse. Honestly, it might have looked worse, but we'd have been much better off had we just allowed it to come to the top, instead of spraying all that extra corexit on it. We could at least have gathered it up slowly. Now it's under the water, polluting and getting in the fish. Those bacteria will be eaten by small fishes, then larger fishes, and like Mercury, it'll be in the largest fish the most.

It is still washing up onto the shores, but even when that lessens, it'll be down there lurking. All the while, our government will be giving it the AOK.

15. I believe you are correct...
The oil is no doubt spreading out in a thin layer on the seafloor, effectively killing it. It would have been much less traumatic to the area if it were all floating on top where it could be removed more easily. The wildlife is suffering regardless of where the oil is, and every living thing is suffering from the added chemicals. I'm not sure the seafloor can recover in our lifetime. This entire disaster has been dysfunctional... see no evil. We're not stupid, BP, Rush, et al. We know the real killer is the part we cannot see... and we know we are only seeing a tiny amount.

5. He'll get his
because there is a massive amount of oil that has spilled into the Gulf and it's in the loop current, headed for Palm Beach among other areas on the east coast.

Those sea breezes won't be nearly so pleasant when they carry the stench of crude oil.

6. The problem is not over and the cost and damage has been tremendous..
It could have been worse and it might still get worse but its bad enough with what's already happening. Limbaugh ia an ass and just says that crap to attract listeners... I dont think he really believes half the nonsense he spews on a daily basis.

12. Belief is for suckers.
Here is Rush's idea of a belief:

"I believe it's about time to head back to the Dominican Republic with another bag of Viagra."

7. actually the Corexit is taking care of it
by 'taking care of it', I mean breaking it down to the molecular level so that it enters the food chain and screws everything up.
by 'taking care of it', I also mean, breaking it down so that it's impossible to track and clean up and study.

20. HALLO!
Of ALL the clusterfucks in this disaster, the application of COREXIT is by far the WORST. The only way I can process it is to refer back to a quip I made in Mrs. Houston's 5th grade class (among others) that created quite a bit of consternation on her part. "There are enough SMART people to solve problems but more than enough STUPID PEOPLE to prevent them from doing so." At least THAT ONE didn't get me sent to the principal's office. (However, when I loudly proclaimed that jumping under desks provided NO PROTECTION from a nuclear explosion and my classmates burst into tears, I was duly sent there).

Forgive your aging ol' Tante her :tinfoilhat:

The agenda of "excess population" reduction described by PNAC and the forces behind it have NOTHING to fear from the ingenue. He merely provides a populist patina. How can ANYONE with the sense G_d gave a billygoat GREEN LIGHT the application of UNTESTED CHEMICAL POISON ON TOP OF A NATURAL POISON??? It had ALREADY been given a pass by powerful forces which have SO MANY resources at their disposal. So NOBODY could stop it. Our bedraggled marine biologists have had so few outlets at their disposal and can now only deal with the aftermath of venal power whose cavalier assaults will be felt for generations to come.

The mid-term elections will most assuredly be declared by corporate media "nose to nose" and the machines will decide UNLESS those being characterized as lazy, deficient, spoiled, drug-addled slackers GET A FUCKING CLUE.

10. I wondered how long it would take him.
They're not skimming any more oil, none to be found. See, it's gone. All fixed. Now come the BP commercials about how much they care about us and what a great job they did.

What we'd prefer or desire can't trump that no matter how much we'd like it to.

Perhaps OxyRush doesn't see this as a problem because he gets
his seafood on his weekend trips to the Dominican Republic. :eyes:

18. No one with two brain cells to rub together can take this man seriously.
He doesn't believe in climate change/global warming. Thinks liberated women are femi-nazis. Thinks that is it impossible for man to destroy the earth. He thinks that everything the Repubs do is right and everything the Dems do is wrong. He thinks that the gulf is healing---well hell, he didn't think the oil spill was a big deal to begin with.
