2. did you check your signal strength? i have directv and we can check our signal strength.
sometimes you can switch -- i can't think of the name right now for some reason-- and get a better signal strentgh. not sure if dish can do that... directv does, so dish should too. we had dish several years ago and switched to directv when my husband was working there. good luck.

3. We have had Dish for years and have had very few problems with it,
most of those related to electrical storms and very short duration.

Try them online?

12. Current Solar Activity report
3-day Solar-Geophysical Forecast issued Jul 26 22:00 UTC
Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low through the period. However, there is a slight chance for an isolated C-class flare from Region 1089.

Geophysical Activity Forecast: Geomagnetic field activity is expected to increase to quiet to active levels with a slight chance for a minor storm on day 1 (27 July) as the current coronal hole high-speed stream intensifies. Activity is expected to decrease to quiet to unsettled levels during days 2 - 3 (28 - 29 July) as the high-speed stream gradually subsides.

7. Dish Network is having difficulties
Edited on Tue Jul-27-10 07:28 AM by Hokie
Here is a forum with a discussion about it. Many users report satellite reception is coming and going. Sat 119 seems to be involved.
http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-technical-discussions/221637-what-going-lost-119-satellite-3.html

Edit: I checked some space weather sites and found no mention of a solar event. This must be a Dish NW screw up. One more reason I am dropping them at the end of the month.

9. Last months Mother Jones had an article on Glen Beck and they said Dish Net was the last
Major company to still advertise on it, so we cancelled and got Direct TV and cut our monthly bill in half. We get more channels as well.

11. Did Mother Jones Also
mention that Direct TV is owned by News Corp?

now you give your money directly to Glenn Beck's parent company.

The owners of Dish are Democrats

10. Nope, zero problem
We have Dish HD. Might that be the difference? Even when we had regular Dish, we never lost signal except during the very, very worst storms when nobody had any business watching TV anyway. I'd be intrigued to find out what the wind-up is. I've only had to call their help-line once right when I first got Dish about 3-1/2 years ago and they were johnny-on-the-spot. When we upgraded to HD a few months back, it was a piece of cake, boom-boom-boom, done in a day and I loooooooooooooooove it!
