Right-wingers offer $100 for punching Rep. Grayson in the nose. What would left-wingers do for $100?
Snip from the original poll:

This week, Dan Gainor, the veep for the right-wing "Media Research Center", offered $100 to the first congressman to punch Rep. Alan Grayson in the nose.

(Grayson, a Florida Democrat ... is the guy who characterized the Republican health care plan as "Don't get sick.")

We ... don't condone violence, but we get angry, too, and we're eager to jump on the bandwagon of paying others to do our dirty work. So, we're offering $100 to the first person to make a big political statement on our behalf. But first, you tell us: What should it be?

The poll is satirical, but it does underscore the extremes that the GOP will go to in an effort to show "who's the boss" - even when they aren't!

So, DU: What political statement would you make for $100?

Let the games begin!

18. I'd use a 1/4 inch dowel rod...
a 2 x 4 is much too big for such a small target.

I'm kidding. He's not worth the energy, or the stain on my soul. Right wingers love their money and violence. I'm betting someone they deem as a right wing authority figure could just say the word and he/she would have countless thugs lining up to do their bidding. They wouldn't even need a bribe. I think some right wingers would punch their own mother in the nose for $5. They're easily herded.

The reason the left is erroneously perceived as a bunch of broke freeloaders is because so many of us aren't all that interested in accumulating large amounts of money or junk. Integrity and decency tend to be more highly valued than $.

3. Contrary to the MSM's claims, the Left actually has principles. We don't lie
And don't generally do stupid things for money.
That said, there are some people who deserve a tongue lashing these days. They are usually behind a wall of money and phone screeners though.

would not do (along these lines).

If we were as immune to consequences as those on the reich were, a lot of positive things could be achieved.

16. If you take the "by any means..." stand (and I waffle on that) ...
... then do you agree with the right-wingers offering money for violence to intimidate an outspoken left-winger like Grayson? I'm just wondering...

for assault and battery. Most right wingers are just stupid enough to try it.

7. Well, I work 10 hour days...
...and average about $100 after all the deductions (taxes, insurance, etc).

So, I guess I would work all day like a dog for $100.

9. the difference btwn the left and the right is we don't ask for bribes to participate
look around. the left makes incredibly beautiful political statements all the time without expecting to be paid for it. activist who sit in ancient trees to prevent their cutting -- they're not getting paid. people who gather on Florida beaches to speak out against off-shore drilling, they don't ask for money. the parents who fight every day to keep their schools running...they're donating time and money.

34. I think your post demonstrates a major difference between right and left ...
While the right is out there paying people to punch the opposition, people like you, presumably on the left, just want to keep their own team in step.

33. I would stand in Congress - when it's as full as those lazy asses

could muster - and have a ComeToJesus meeting with those blowhards.

I would call out each and every one.

There are executives, police chiefs, politicians, preachers, teachers and Repukes who will tell you: You do not want to receive a ComeToJesus meeting from Tsiyu.

Soul-shattering doses of reality often come in really small packages...:)
