There is a continuous debate going on at DU regarding the powers that Law Enforcement Officers have.
So, do any members of the LEO community (if you are a member of DU) feel that there is a conflict between your jobs and belonging to a generally liberal/progressive community?

I've been around LEOs for many years. Most, if you ever bring up civil liberties, roll their eyes. Yet most plead the 5th when questioned about any possible illegal acts when on the stand.

I'd think that most here are. I would caution you on prejudging anyone including public servants that do risk their lives. The bad apples do get all of the press and are the first noticed by the public. That is still no reason to bash all of them, including the very good and honest ones.
