Iraq War: Figurative question.
If you had to choose one of these statements, which would you choose? Obviously it is a figurative question, but choose one.

1. The Dems do not fund the war and ALL troops come home in July, but in return, a Republican will win the presidental election in 2008.
2. The Dems do fund the war and in return a Democrat wins the Presidential election in 2008 and pulls out all troops by February 1, 2009.

2. #2
We cannot take four more years of republican misrule... especially considering the group of goofballs who are running.

Ending the war is an important thing, but it's not the only thing.

3. Assuming the fatality rate would remain the same...
Option 2 results in roughly 300 more deaths among Americans. (I averaged fatalities per month over four months.) Would I let 300 people be killed to elect a Democrat? No. But one hopes that those aren't the only two choices.

4. Everyone knows a Republican pResident will bomb Iran.
Almost NO ONE, except War Profiteers, Paranoiacs in love with MAD, and Republican pResidential candidates, wants to bomb Iran.

#1. Will not happen.

I vote for #3. IWR Permission is revoked by new legislation stating that the reasons for the War, weapons of mass destruction and the threat posed by Saddam Hussein's government, no longer exist and Occupation was NOT authorized. And all funding from that point forward will be for withdrawal, NOT Redployment, on a mutually agreed upon timeline. Whatever happens to the pResidency is a different issue.
