Over 3000 pigs have dropped dead over the last 3 weeks in the provinces of Guria and Samegrelo in western Georgia. Locals are concerned of a possible pig epidemic; representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture say "there is no reason to worry".

Rustavi 2 reports that the 3000 dead pigs have been dumped into local rivers by farmers. The TV station also reports that infected meat is being sold at markets in Samegrelo.

4. Time to start learning to cook kosher or halal.

I, for one, am highly allergic to pork. I know some people think they can't live without their ham, bacon or sausage, but, trust me, turkey bacon or sausage is better for you and leaner (I think it tastes better leaner, but I know some people LIKE the fat. ewwww).

Seriously, though - if anyone needs some recipe tips to avoid pork, IM me. I've not eaten anything with pork in it for 12 years after a ham sandwich sent me to the hospital.

6. Hell, it's the SPICES that people love. Meat is pretty much meat.

Some is leaner than the others, that's all.

Chicken sausage, turkey sausage, venison sausage, heck, snake or squirrel sausage--if someone served you the latter three and didn't tell you, you wouldn't know, so long as the spices were front-loaded.

And for that matter, there's nuthin' better than 'soy sausage' patties, if they're well seasoned.

or swine flu; I'll be interested in seeing what they say is the cause when the analysis is done. Of course China is denying there are any deaths at all.
