3 US troops killed in Afghanistan; bodies found beheaded in south

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Three more American troops have been reported killed in Afghanistan.

NATO says one was killed in an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan while another died following a roadside bombing yesterday in the south. The U.S. military says a third service member died in an explosion today. That incident was also in southern Afghanistan.

The deaths bring the number of international service members killed in Afghanistan this month to 83. At least 49 were Americans. June has been the deadliest month of the nearly 9-year-old war for coalition forces.

note: I edited the original headline, which implied (to me) that the bodies found behead were those of US Troops.

9. Calling them Troops ...
makes their deaths no BFD.
US Presidents are remembered for the wars they win, not for the lives they lost.
