BP ROV watch - they have taken the cap off the BOP!

I just turned on the multifeed from http://blog.alexanderhiggins.com/bp-live-oil-spill-cam.html and the cap is off, the well is spewing full force. Hopefully this means they will get the new cap on quickly with the new systems in place to collect as much as possible.

1. Appears to be significant degradation of the pipe.

It was a horizontal cut. Now, one side is worn away. Looks like maybe a high velocity flow from the drill pipe with a slower stream from the BOP.

If so, the well flow has increased massively.

2. I heard yesterday the tilt was becoming more pronounced.

From 5-6 Degs. to close to 10.

3. Looks like the tube above the cap failed.

Notice when the view sweeps upward from the cap. Looks like the side blew out of the suction tube.
