Please Vote for Johnny Weir as the US Figure Skating Reader's Choice Skater of the Year
I know there are many pressing and tragic things going on in the world right now, but I wanted to ask those that cared about equality and artistic values to go to this site and vote for a truly fantastic American artist! I saw him perform in Columbus, Ohio on June 19th and it was truly inspirational! This man is so unique in his art form and I would hope he can share it with more people in the future! I wish someone would tell Elton John to take that mil he got from Rush Limbaugh and invest it in Johnny!

Here is the Johnny Weir "Heartbroken" Skate for Hope, Columbus Ohio 6-19-2010 performance if you care to take a few minutes - it was awesome:

and this one, Bad Romance:

3. That's fine - I am just putting out my opinion. No one is dissing Lysacek like they are Johnny.
There is something about Johnny that Lysacek will never get and that is heart!

5. Johnny is loved in Russia, Japan and many other countries!
That is the difference in him and other figure skaters. He is magical and his talent goes so much further then the average figure skater. He is trying to relate to an artistic level that has not been approached by many of the skaters in the world.

6. He was robbed at the Olympics
Both his routines were visions of beauty and athleticism. Here's a thread where we talked about it

7. Johnny dared to be different and he lost the judges but won those who love his tenacity!
Johnny's movements are so fluent you have to use the French language to express it - Johnny epitimizes joie de vivre.

8. Weir
Weir is a superb skater, but his exhibitionist costumes are so far out they detract from his art and athletic skills. He needs to tone it down if he wants to reach the top of the heap as an gold medalist. He can if he wants to. If he chooses not to, then he should proceed into the show business side of the sport; he'll do well.

9. Not to dispute your point but I am not talking about metals here. That is the problem I think!
You see your right when it comes to "metals", but I am right in the fact that Johnny doesn't really care that much about metals, he cares more about his art form. This is something that is hard to get in the minds of those that only see this as a competition. It is about Johnny and how he relates to others with his art of skating. If you will take a minute and watch the video of his performance in Columbus Ohio on Saturday of his "Heartbroken" routine you will comprehend what I am trying to convey.
