Sorry, George, I was so wrong.
Hey, I’m not too proud to admit that I was wrong. I posted this yesterday ahead of GWB’s visit to Greensburg, Kansas: “Oooh, a natural disaster! Photo ops! Bet he'll be on the evening news in a plaid shirt swinging a hammer.”

I was so wrong. Here’s what actually happened:

“He briefly grabbed a chain saw, ripping it into action for the cameras and other media that accompanied him.” I am eating humble pie. He didn’t swing a hammer one time for a photograph, he fired up a chain saw one time for a photograph. Totally different than the hammer photos after Katrina. And the shirt wasn’t plaid.

"’How are you all?’ Bush asked as he moved among residents. ‘Stylish looking hat,’ he joked to a man in a green fedora.” (Didn’t see the hat, but it was undoubtedly the coolest green fedora in the midst of the wreckage.)

“…the president freely dished out hugs.”

He cares! He really cares!

2. See, that's why the RW thinks we are too cynical.
It's obvious this photo-op was completely different. He had on a different shirt! Big of you to apologize.

No gloves
No goggles
No chaps
No lid
Probably no steel-toed boots.

I guess we're supposed to be impressed that he knows the difference between a chainsaw and an electric toothbrush.

5. didn't he clear any brush?
He seems to spend a hell of a lot of time doing it on the ranch, he should be pretty good at it by now.

9. When Chimpy got his first chainsaw a few years ago,
he brought it back to Home Depot and told the clerk "This thing is worthless, it takes forever to cut a limb."

"Well, let's check it out" the guy says, and starts the motor.

Chimp jumps back and says "What's that NOISE?"
