My dream is coming true: Tea Party declining in approval ratings!
"The poll also finds growing disapproval of the "tea party" movement, with half the population now expressing an unfavorable impression of the loosely aligned protest campaign that has shaken up politics this year."

Rest of article here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/08/AR2010060800016.html?nav=hcmodule

"What accounts for this change? It's unclear. Dave Weigel suggests that Rand Paul's naive and incendiary ruminations about racial discrimination alienated people who had one foot in the Tea Party camp. But I wouldn't be surprised if the oil spill actually made a lot of people rethink the Tea Party doctrine that 1) enterprise should be freer of regulation and 2) environmental problems are way overblown and 3) the government should just get out of the way because people can take care of themselves."

2. "The Rise of the New Right" sounds more and more like
Nazi Germany to a lot of Americans. Rightfully so.

4. New History
There are some newly recent histories of the Third Reich that I have been reading. What makes my skin crawl is the resemblance to the right wing in this country. Especially the teabaggers. Of course, once you make the comparison, the talk goes to the Holocaust, and how such a comparison is dishonest because the GOP hasn't built any ovens. I say that's beside the point. The history of the Third Reich is how a belligerent party destroyed democracy and installed a dictatorship.
If it is true that the teabaggers are on the wane, then fine, but if they should become resurgent and more violent, and still get the blessing of the GOP, then history will indeed be repeating itself. Despite Obama's perceived failings, the worst we can do is abandon him to these right wing forces. I see way too much of that here on DU. Never lose sight of the REAL enemy.
