Carville unrepentant on White House criticism
Source: Politico

The impromptu Gulf summit did little to dissuade Carville from his role as President Barack Obama’s No. 1 Democratic critic on the spill — and White House officials make no secret of the fact they’re annoyed by Carville’s criticism.

Carville has accused Obama of being too disengaged and deferential to BP, saying the president needs to become BP’s “daddy.”

...

“I’m doing what I have to do,” said Carville, who has called the administration’s initial response to the spill “lackadaisical” and lacking urgency. “I tried to get their attention for some time. I am a Democrat. I like almost all of their policies. But I’m trying to everything in my power to help my state — short of just going after them. But I did and I will again.”

A longtime Carville friend said he only went public after repeatedly trying to engage his closest friend in the White House, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who told him that the administration was already doing all it could do, short of plugging the seemingly unpluggable leak.

1. So I wonder if Carville thinks only he could relay the urgency of
the situation, as if this admin hasn't been aware of that from day one? Please.

I hope someone can document how repeatedly and urgently he went after the idiot son after Katrina.

2. Preach Brother James....
Preach. Speak truth to power, especially when that power was - supposed and presumed - to be on "our side."

This is a one term Presidency if they fail to listen to their friends, like Carville.

3. Carville is no friend of mine, no friend of "ours". He's a media whore
looking for book and regaining his fame, after all the irresponsible things he has said and done.

Let's ask him to volunteer to plug the wellhead, he seems to want something to be done.

He's nothing to me. Just another media gold-digger.

4. All the time he spent crying on the TV he could have
been helping with the clean up. I guess it's easier for him to whine instead.

5. Still angry that Hillary lost to Obama.
Gives him the opportunity to vent along with his wife.

8. I just remember how many steps removed I am from the Gulf and how it must hurt that
much more if you were born there and live there.

11. Siding With Carville
The White House is FAIL on this oil leak

They are letting the criminals that did the crime run the "clean up".

The dispersants are just hiding the oil, dumping more toxins on top of toxins, making it harder to clean up.

BP is not allowing the clean-up workers to use respirators because it portrays a bad image. The MSDS on the dispersant Corextic requires respirators.

Just today Obama's appointee at NOAA, Jane Lubchenco sided with BP that there are no underwater plumes, in spite of several scientists saying there is. Just another corporate toad.

We're aware that your brand is crisis. Where was your outrage when your buddy, Stan Greenburg, was painting British Petroleum that lovely shade of green?

16. I think President Obama is on track to use the oil spill to
garner support for a green energy program to make the space program look like a bake sale. Let's hear what Carville has to say when the rich oil folk start complaining about that.
