OMG! Giant Guatemalan sinkhole!

One person has reportedly died after a massive sinkhole swallowed a three-storey building and a house in Guatemala.

The hole, larger than a street intersection, opened up in the wake of Tropical Storm Agatha in the capital Guatemala City.

away.

We had one about 45 feet deep and 15 feet wide open up under my Dad's front yard one time. Turned out there was an abandoned coal mine full of running ground water underneath his place. The mine was worked out and shut down about seventy five years before he bought the property. Pop had to pay to fix the coal company's mess they had left behind.
