9. Here's the menu
"The menu and entertainment were designed as a showcase of America's best: spring pea soup with U.S. caviar, dover sole almondine, spring lamb with chanterelle sauce and local vegetables and an arugula, mustard greens and romaine salad, said executive chef Cristeta Comerford."

The article has a lot of interesting details.

20. HA! Laura must have told him NO TX BBQ tonight George!
I know I heard the Queen doesn't like spicy foods, but I thought SURE Shrub would have snuck in at least ONE Texas steak or something!

21. that is a good story
George and Laura both made some minor flub-ups. America's best food? Feed the Queen and her Prince some REAL American food! BBQ ribs, grilled steaks, corn on the cob, some cornbread, and some peach cobbler for dessert!!!!!! and sweet tea for the beverage!!

23. From the Guardian's story...
"Mrs. Bush insisted that the president was enthusiastic about wearing white tie and tails - though admittedly after being persuaded by his wife and secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, to elevate the dinner to that exalted level in the first place."

What a difference an omitted "the" can make!

7. Jim Click, Tucson's premier sleezebag car dealer and Chimp pioneer...
...is on the guest list. The guy makes me want to puke, every time I see one of his commercials. When I lived in Tucson, I bought a car in Phoenix, just to avoid doing business with the guy. My business partner did the same.

24. Must be the thanks for her taking on Rosie on the View....
The only intellect/artist I saw on the list was Perlman the violin concert artist....

Sigh...I can only imagine in private what the "Queen" whispers to her husband about the Bush Co. and their "guests"....

PS: I still can't believe Bush winked at her highness today....the idiot is such an embarressment on all levels....

I got mail addressed to "Honorable".

Uh, nope. I'm "Julie". The Honorable Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, earns the title "Honorable" daily.

26. Trent Lott
just a plain old senator and they left off the majority whip Steny Hoyer. Sure is a bi-partisan list AINT' IT. If it wasn't for Nancy Pelosi they wouldn't have a democrat there.

27. Maybe this is too snooty, but . .
. . . when hosting the Queen of England, couldn't Mr. Twenty-Eight Percent do a better job of representing America than a redneck quarterback, a dim-witted host of "The View" whose claim to fame is her appearance on "Survivor," and a bunch of political reporters? This is how we want to represent American culture?

(And please look at my avatar before anyone starts thinking that I consider the NFL to be too lowbrow)
