"MACHETE" - Just in time for Cinco de Mayo? (not sure, what to think...)
Edited on Wed May-05-10 11:15 AM by kpete

Whoah: Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, and in gritty tribute to Arizona's new racial profiling law, comes the trailer for Machete, Robert Rodriquez' new action-packed, blood-and-gore fest. With Danny Trejo offering a special shout-out to Arizona. It even has Robert DeNiro as the bad guy trying to keep out the illegals. Adrenaline City.

9. Mexicans love mayonnaise
http://www.unwind.com/jokes-funnies/holidayjokes/sinkodemayo.shtml

There are many stories related to the sinking of the "Titanic." Some have just come to light due to the success of the recent movie.

For example, most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellman's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. The "Titanic" was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after New York City.

The Mexican people were eagerly awaiting delivery and were disconsolate at the loss. So much so that they declared a national day of mourning which they still observe today. It is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

2. If that really was a trailer? Why would it have a swear word in it?

It seems like something else. Note that it has that same idea of violence, although it is possible to see it in many ways by thinking on it in different ways.

Although it has some favorite actors in it.

There is one comment in it, seems like 'knife to a gun fight' If seen as an advocate of violence to get peaceful movements to destroy themselves by becoming violent, then that video could be a knife in a gun fight.

Or maybe to be seen as violent by many people to increase fear. There is something there...

What I am saying is that takes concepts of justice and changes them to a fight with violence, however in metaphor that same fight for justice can be fought with peace, so it has to be seen in a certain way to have value, and can be seen in a way to have bad effect.

So there is two sides to it.

Ahhh, I got it. Figured it out, the violence is just a metaphor.

The Machete is the hack, as in political hack, or journalistic hack. So it is making a statement from that perspective. So rules applied back? Hack for Hack? Withough violence of coarse? It is a puzzle.

In metaphor it is not about violence at all. So the violence is the knife, and the movie as metaphor is the gun, depending how someone chooses to see it, in the knife versus gun fight. Hence the movie is part of the gun, if the violence is seen only as metaphor. Although the use of gun behind the flowers shows again, that there are many metaphors in it.

I would guess there are some good messages and values in the film, but also some bad ones.

6. That's the one
I was trying to think of this one and describe it to my wife who despises all things Tarantino. I know but I love her anyway.

The girl on the trampoline had me laughing and grimacing at the same time.

11. I totally want to see Werewolf Women of the SS.
Doesn't look like it's gonna happen, though.

But at least Nicholas Cage made his comeback, anyway.

Grindhouse. They set up a bunch of fun trailers for the intermission. I think they were at least as entertaining as the actual movies. I don't think he's actually considering turning it into a movie is he? It would be kind of fun.

7. A real trailer?
Not the one from Grindhouse? Cool. I've been waiting for this one, I thought it was still just being talked about it.
