Quiz on Iran: Can You Pass It?
Edited on Tue May-04-10 10:12 AM by BridgeTheGap
In an attempt to "introduce more balance to the mainstream discussion of Iran," Counter Currents has published a quiz on Iran. It's a bit cumbersome at times, but it's good for more than a few important chin-scratching moments. Want to take the super-short version? Here goes (answers at the link):

1. Is Iran an Arab country?

2. What percentage of students entering university in Iran are female?

3. What percentage of Iran's population attends Friday prayers?

1. I got the first two right.
I guessed low on No. 3, but not low enough.

3. Boy, do I feel dumb.
I only got one of three - placed women's enrollment at +50%, and thought 15% for attending services.

6. Heer is the actual link to the full quiz

The Persian people remain strongly pro American in sentiment and are very well educated.

A couple of additional questions that should have been asked:

- What is the average age of Iranians?

- Is Iran a democracy?

Average age is about 22 years old (After the fall of the Shah there was a tremendous birth explosion)

Iran is one of the most democratic countries in the region although the cleric control of certain functions, including authorizing who can run for office, limit it obviously. Until recently the accounting of votes cast has been considered clean.

Having said all of that Ahmadinejad is still an idiot. If the Iranian people could support their own leader chosen freely they would soon become one of the US's strongest allies in the region, and one of the most democratic.
