Bilbray claims you can tell "illegals" by their clothing
Edited on Thu Apr-22-10 11:33 AM by Jeff In Milwaukee
John McCain has no reason to fear illegal immigrants "intentionally causing accidents on the freeway" -- according to Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.), "trained professionals" can identify undocumented workers just by looking at their clothes.

Discussing Arizona's pending profiling bill on "Hardball," Chris Matthews challenged Bilbray to cite a "non-ethnic aspect" by which law enforcement agents could identify illegal immigrants. "They will look at the kind of dress you wear, there is different type of attire, there is different type of -- right down to the shoes, right down to the clothes," Bilbray replied.

So if you walk around looking like this guy:

You are totally fucking busted. Tip: Leave the burro at home!

1. Good luck to him telling the legal immigrants from the illegal ones
here in New Mexico, especially in the southern part of the state.

People on the border shop on both sides. Mexicans are likely to be wearing WalMart's finest while fashionable Yanquis have rebozos around their shoulders in cool weather.

Of all the dumb shits in the world, the dumbest have got to be the bigots.

4. I still want to know...
if they're going to detain white people on the suspicion that they are Canadians in the country illegally.

5. Indeed... and we can't expect to change them...
We can try to educate, but that's about as far as it goes. Let them have their bigotry... we don't have to buy into it, and we don't have to let them push us around with it.

I grew up in El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciúncula... we share clothes here too. I was born here, and they were here first, we both belong and there's no issue. It's not all that hard to do, quite enjoyable actually, which makes the bigots look all the more foolish to me.

7. Everyone head to Olvera Street! Pronto!
I can't believe they are doing this, but the rent is going up at Olvera Street... Our Pueblo! I'm so pissed!

With the city facing a budget shortfall of $212 million dollars this year, the El Pueblo Board of Commissioners sought to significantly raise rents at La Placita Olvera, as it is commonly known, to what it described as “market rates.” In a meeting in late March, LA City Council members on the Arts, Parks, Health and Aging Committee agreed to delay the contentious increases for a so-called thirty-day “cooling off” period. Feeling that the raises in rent would be too much, too soon, many merchants, including some who have been at Olvera Street for decades, fear that they would be put out of business.

10. It read so much nicer in the original German, too
Honestly, it's just mind-boggling to see how ignorant these bigots are. And how ignorant they are of their own ignorance. Absolutely ripe for a Twilight Zone episode.

16. I saw that interview....
and if I had not hear him say it I would not have believed that someone is that stupid. I would like to tell a story about how this is a really stupid idea from my own experience. Years ago, I worked for a firm where I had to do some travel via plane. I went on a trip once with a woman who's married name was Arabic. I won't write her name because she still is married. Anyway, this woman was white, very fair skinned, blonde, blue-eyed. We were both dressed up in 'dress for success' business attire but she was stopped at several airports in FLORIDA and had to present her drivers' license. We had confirmed tickets and almost missed one plane connection between Tallahassee and Miami because of this. There has got to be a better way.

Sometimes, I think that the conservatives do these things to show "the black POTUS" that the old boy's club will not take his authority.

Their racism is so blatant that one would be a fool not to see it.
