Sometimes planes fly low with no obvious explanation. I assure you most of them will not fly into any buildings. Maybe living in a big city has jaded me but a low-flying plane rates about a 0.2 on my WTF-O-Meter.

13. The other day, out of nowhere, a giant C-17 cargo plane grazed

the plumbing vent on the roof of my building. I heard a loud whining I knew was the scream of a jet engine and I ran outside to see wtf it was. It was right on top of me when I got outside and I could almost reach up and pull the landing gear door open.



I have no idea what that plane was doing buzzing my roof. The nearest base is Carswell JRB, which is 20+ miles away.

I used to live about 15 miles from Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, and sometimes planes would fly so low they'd cause shadows INSIDE the house.

I wouldn't read too much into it.
